Thank you for sharing your views on how to be happy healthy and connected
In June 2024, we heard from you to understand how we can support your wellbeing.
We partnered with Preventive Health SA to create a City of Holdfast Bay Wellbeing Hub that supports physical, mental and social wellbeing.
We asked for your help to understand what wellbeing support looks like for you and the community. We wanted to create better connections with the wellbeing resources the council currently offer and find out where gaps exist that the council can address. This feedback helped us to create a model for the City of Holdfast Bay’s Wellbeing Hub.
This project launched on 7 November 2024. Click here to learn more about the Wellbeing Hub

What we asked you
Throughout June and July 2024, we asked you to share your views on what makes you feel happy healthy and connected. You were given the opportunity to identify and rate barriers to participating in wellbeing activities and consider what could be offered to enhance your wellbeing.
A range of communication and engagement activities were undertaken to inform, consult, and involve the community, including:
- Community Pop-Up: The ‘Share your view’ stand was at the Brighton Winter Solstice Street party on Jetty Road, Brighton. The stand included surveys and thought collection jars.
- Surveys and Feedback: The YourHoldfast website allows you to share your feedback and ideas and reflect on barriers to participation in Hardcopy surveys were also available at the civic centre, libraries and Holdfast Bay community centre.
- Stakeholder and Community Drop-Ins: a 2-hour ‘drop-in’ session was held at the community centre.

Next steps
On Monday 12 August, a co-design workshop was facilitated by Preventive Health with internal and external stakeholders.
The workshop considered the existing public
health data, current services and the results of this engagement to form a
concept plan for the City of Holdfast Bay’s Wellbeing Hub.
