The redevelopment of Hindmarsh Lane includes a significant upgrade of the public toilet facilities.

There will be an increase in the number of toilets and there will be facilities for able bodied, disabled and profoundly disabled people along with parents/baby change facilities. In a first for Jetty Road Glenelg and Holdfast Bay there will be a Changing Places facility which will include an adult sized change table, ceiling hoist, a peninsula toilet, privacy screen and additional circulation space to meet the needs of people with complex disabilities and their carers.

The public toilets in Hindmarsh Lane are now closed for the construction period, with signage in place to direct people to other public toilets at the Glenelg Foreshore (between the Glenelg Town Hall and The Beachouse) and Bayside Village. More public toilets are also located at Wigley Reserve and there are also two temporary portaloos available for the next few months for visitors who don’t see the pre-warning signs.
