Today, construction began on the eastern segments of the Jimmy Melrose Pathway, with contractors profiling the asphalt layer and preparing the base for resealing on Monday 11 November. New concrete kerbs are also being installed, enhancing pathway drainage, while the roundabouts at Kent Street and Pier Street will be reconstructed to boost structural stability and facilitate easy maneuvers for maintenance vehicles. Upcoming LED streetlight upgrades along the pathway will improve safety and energy efficiency.

Traffic management is in place to ensure residents can still access their properties, and bikes and pedestrians are encouraged to use the newly completed seaside pathway, which is being constructed along the eastern segments of the pathway.
