Project Overview

The renewal of the Somerton Park Tennis Club’s six courts and the installation of new sports lighting will result in a facility that meets Tennis Australia's expectations for club competition and improved disability access.

The installation of new sports lighting, which will also reduce light spill for neighbouring residents, is being co-funded by the Somerton Park Tennis Club together with a $35,000 grant from the Office for Sport, Recreation and Racing.

The courts will also be resurfaced and realigned, and a Disability Discrimination Act-compliant access gate and new fencing will be installed.

The City of Holdfast Bay has allocated $433,000 for the project. An additional $140,000 has been received from the Australian Government’s Local Roads Community Infrastructure Program.
