Following some construction delays due to earlier winter rain events and finalising the administrative Development Approval process to undertake works within the mooring site area, it is anticipated that completion of the project will be in early 2025. These approvals were unable to be sought until the contractor was appointed and various site-specific management plans had been developed and submitted for approval.

Paving and landscaping works have recently been completed for the initial stage of the Former Buffalo Site remediation project. While additional landscaping and paving works will still be required at site, the current pause in site works the is due to external referral bodies (including adjacent landholder feedback) finalisation as part of the Development Approval process.

In the coming weeks installation of balustrade safety fence will be taking place along the stone wall bounding the Patawalonga Lake between the former Buffalo site and the rear of playspace.
