At a Council Assessment Panel (CAP) meeting held on 25 September 2024, the Development Application to undertake works within the mooring site area at the former Buffalo site was granted approval.

Following the CAP approval, a dredging license is still required to be issued to the Lead Contractor undertaking the works through the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). It is expected to be approved and issued in the coming weeks.

This will conclude the administrative approvals process required to enable work to resume within the mooring site. During the remediation of the former mooring site, the paving, balustrade, cultural art installation and landscaping will also commence.
