Results of community engagement - 40 km/h speed limit for residential streets
On 24 November 2021, Council conducted a community engagement to identify if there was community support for a 40km/h area speed limit. There was a high level of engagement with Council receiving feedback from 434 participants through a range of engagement methods including the council website - interactive maps, surveys, and Q and As, hardcopy surveys and three drop-in sessions at key locations.
There was a marginal net positive support for the implementation of a 40km/h speed limit, with the preferred location in the area west of Brighton Road and Tapley’s Hill Road.
The Engagement Summary Report was provided to Council at its meeting on 14 June 2022, where Council unanimously resolved to note the engagement report and findings.
